Chronic Vertigo, Ears Plugged, Pressure On Face, Forehead, Ear, Drainage Down Back Of Throat. Sinus Infection?

Hi. I have had vertigo for years from getting fluid in my ears about 7 years ago and also from bad allergies. I had generally learned to live with it and manage it. But a few days ago I had a crying spell and really cried hard and could feel my ears get totally plugged. Then I went to sleep shortly after. Since the next day I've been really dizzy. Like I get this awful pressure in my ears and face and real loud buzzing and I feel like I'm just falling forward to moving or really weirdly spacey. Do you think I pushed fluid in my ears again or have a sinus infection? It's very hard to deal with and happens tons of times a day. I have weird pressure in my face under my eyes and forehead but no headache or anything. Plus a lot of drainage down the back of my throat. I am miserable Thank you so much for your help.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM,

You seem to be in such a misery i am surprised that you have not been evaluated extensively. Get the following done immediately:
1. Get a full audiological work up including PTA and impedance and also CT if possible of the ears and temporal bone
2. Get a full sinus work up including endoscopy and CT of the sinuses
3. Get a neurologist/ ophthalmologist to give you a full work up
4. Google for vestibular rehabilitation exercise and do them regularly

get back to me if needed

regards

Dr Sriram Nathan
