Chronic Urticaria. Treatment?

Hello doctor, I am from Bangalore and is suffering from chronic urticaria . I am consulting Dr.Smitha Warriar of Fortis Hospital. She has asked me to take your opinion on this matter as I am not able to come down to mumbai for your consultation so she suggested me to take online consultation with you as you are the expert in this field. I am having this problem from last 4-5 yrs but every time I take medicine it supresses the symptom but again the problem persists after sometime. I have been on several medicines but it didn t work. please help me how to overcome this problem. My Ige level was 2000 3 months back.

hi chronic idiopathic urticaria .is very tough to treat.usally all routine investigations should be done ,special investigations like thyroid profile.rheumatic factor,stool examination and patch tests to determine the cause of urticaria.u should treat it with atarax 25 mg at night,allegra 180 mg in the morning,application of calamine lotion,deworming agent ,pantop40 mg before breakfast and use of predinisolone tablet thrice daily tapered to once daily.and avoid the allergens indicated by patch tests
