Hi,
major depression has numerous of treatment options. Non medical treatment options are usually associated in the depending on the case. The fact that a drug is effective in one patient might not imply effective in the next patient.
Consulting a psychiatrist is an ideal situation. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and Tricyclic anti depressants are generally the drug classes used. I suggest you visit a psychologist and and psychiatrist. This could be of utmost help. Develop a positive attitude the way you see life. Exercise could also be very helpful in depression and anxiety. Joining sports clubs or doing other sports in small groups and avoiding isolation as much as possible could be pf so much help.
Hope this helps as I wish you the best of health,
Luchuo, MD.

Welcome to HCM
Thanks for your query
Ayurveda can definitely help you in your case
You should do Pranayam like udgeeth, bhramari
You should do meditation also
Along with this, you should take these ayurvedic medicines-
1) Brahmi Vati 2 tablets 2 times in a day with milk
2) Ashwagandha Churna 1 tsp 2 times a day with milk
3) Saraswatarishta 4tsp with half cup of water 2 times a day after meal.
Shirodhara (Panchkarma) will also help you.
Consult a psychiatrist also.
