Chronic Back Pain, Gout Affecting Feet And Left Knee. Taking Aleve, Tylenol And Valium. Suggestion For Pain Relieving?

I have chronic back pain. I had a fusion on L4, L5 and S1 2 years ago. I also have gout that affects my feet and left knee. Dr's think it is a "gout " knee. I broke my sternum last fall, have had 3 whiplashes and broke my tailbone twice, however I am unable to get a Dr. to prescribe pain medication. I now take 2-3 Aleve and 2 -6 arthritis strength Tylenol along with a 2mg Valium each day. Often that does not relieve my pain. Do you have any suggestions?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

As you have a lengthy medical history with different ailments, it is not advisable to take any medication on your own.

Any pain killer medication tend to produce serious systemic adverse reactions if taken over a prolonged period of time.

So, I suggest you to consult your treating doctor for further management of your pain.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
