Child With Terrible Rashes And Red Dots On Cheeks, Arms And Shoulders. Suggestion?

The past week or two my son (2 years old) has been getting this terrible red rash on his cheeks (only once there though) and on his shoulders, arms, and chest ... it some times appears as larger splothes together then in other places they are smaller red dots... also, since this has been happening he has been sweating REALLY badly when it pops up.. any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
With your description the rash is looking like an allergic component as it is transient and on and off.
Try to find out any related allergen my carefully noting his diet, activity ,play with pets.
Consult your Pediatrician whenever the child is having the rash for physical examination as the diagnosis will be easy.
Temporarily you can apply calamine lotion for soothing effect .
Hope i have answered your query.

Pediatrician, Cardiology Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jain's  Response
Hello
Reddish rash on cheeks, shoulders, arm and chest without any fever or other illness goes in favour of allergic disorder. Is there any dandruff or scaly lesion in scalp because this suggests seborrheic dermatitis.
If there is preceeding fever and symptoms of cough, cold then it can be due to measles or other viral illness.
So I would suggest you to visit a pediatrician for clinical evaluation and management if needed like antiallergic or emollient.
Regards
