Child With Rough Reddish Skin On The Hands. Had A Frost Bite In The Past. Any Cure?

Hi, my 10 year old son has very rough red skin on the top of both hands. I believe he had a mild case of frostbite several years ago in Alaska. Every winter it turns rough, red and worsens. I ve taken him to the Dr. twice, used the prescription creams & it s still bad. I feel terrible that I haven t found a solution to help heal his hands. Can you offer a suggestion?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The rough red skin in winters is not due to frostbite in the earlier years. This is quite normal with a number of persons in the winters when it is usually more dry. You use moisturizing cream/lotion very frequently and liberally over the area especially after washing hands. Use is before retiring at night.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son all the best.
