Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

If the mud and grit particles have been thoroughly washed with saline flushes immediately following trauma,it's unlikely to scar. Face has very rich blood supply, significant scarring or infection is unusual. ScarringI is mainly due to entrapment of dust and grit.
Continue applying ointment as advised

Wishing him speedy recovery

Take care
