Child With Fever, Cough And Pain In Calves. Developed Headache And Sore Throat. Solution?

My 8 y/o son has had a fever of 38.5c for abou five days a cough has developed and he claims to have severe pain in his calves just below the knees to the point where he can t bear weight and says its hard to walk. Yesterday he also had a severe, light sensitive headache and mild sore throat . Just the flu or something more serious to worry about. His sister had a fever for 5 days prior and is better now. We are mostly concerned about the leg pain.

Hi thanks for your question.
It seems your daughter is suffering pharyngitis leading to upper respiratory tract infection. Fever and headache are part of infection..Myalgia that is pain in muscle and bone is also part of infection. In infection Bacterial or viral lot of toxins are liberated which cause myalgia, fever and headache. She needs a course of antibiotics, antihistiminics and analgesic anti inflammatory drugs. Consult a physician who may examine her and may prescribe her the appropriate treatment.
Hope this answers your question
