Child With Fever And Vomiting Started Diarrhea. What Should I Do?

Hi, my 2 1/2 year old son started a fever Thursday that lasted one day along with vomitting. On Friday he had diarrhea only, all he ate was chicken/corn tortilla, Gatorade, and milk, but at night he pooped what looked like small white cheese or egg white. It smelled like milk gone bad. Saturday he continued with yellowish diarrhea, but on Sunday morning he pooped a dime sized egg white substance again. What could it be and what should I do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your son is having gastroenteritis and could be due to contamination with bacteria or a virus.
You give sips of oral rehydrating solutions like Pedialyte, coconut water, lemon water in equal amounts of losses to prevent dehydration.
Consult your Pediatrician for specific management.
Hope i have answered your query.

Pediatrician, Surgery Dr. Anand Sinha's  Response
Hi Thank you for your query
Your child seems to be suffering from gastroenteritis and looks likely that he will require antibiotics for treatment. Get a stool examination (especially for reducing substances) done and refer a pediatrician for antibiotics. till then keep your child well hydrated. Keep his diet simple. You can avoid milk for a while and instead focus on curd and curd products. Probiotics will be helpful. If your child runs fever, anti pyretics like paracetamol may also be required.
Hope this helps
God bless you
