Child Suffering From Fever, Given Calpol With Temporary Relief. Is Meftal Safe?

Hello doctor... My daughter is 2.9 yrs old. She has had fever since sat night, though it was only 100. She was on doses of calpol every 6 hours. The fever would recur in 3 hours. Since yesterday the fever rose to 103, when my doc suggested meftal. How safe this? She has been given 3 doses with a gap of 6 hours.please advice.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Both Calpol and Meftal are safe to use.
You cangive dose of either medicine 3 times a day.
If fever does not subside for 2-3 days more go for sme blood work.
Give plenty of water and keep him well hydrated.
Ok and bye.
