Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
At the end of 1 year, the growth rate of children will decrease and in parallel to it the appetite of the child will decrease. And it is a normal phenomenon.
At the same time they develop autonomy , so they will resist the forceful feeding.
The oral intake of kid is guided by hunger and one day the intake may be less but if we take over a period of one week, the intake may be appropriate.
Try the following methods to improve his intake:
1. Two spoons method, one to kid and another to mother
2. Finger food
3. Sitting the child on high chair with a desk infront along with family memebers taking food around dining.
These will help to take orally by respecting the kid autonomy and it will be like a play.
Even though practin increases appetite and weight gain,Don't use Practin without a doctor prescription as it is antihistamine and it will cause drowsiness.
Hope I have answered your query.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Young children are sometimes difficult to feed,
I suggest you to be patient, try different food items and avoid foods like chocolate and chips and they interfere with appetite.
Try to feed him with all family members, let him feed himself.
Give plenty of fluids,glucose water,lemonade.fruit.
You should not do any self medication ,practin is antihistamine and increase in appetite is one of its side effects but it causes drowsiness as well.

Wishing your baby good health,
God bless.
