Child Prescribed Amoxycillin For Ear Infection. Observed Red Spots On Stomach And Back. Is It Due To Allergic Reaction?

Hello - My baby is 22 months old and got ear infection. Doctor prescribed Amoxycillin 400mg/5ml and suggested to wait to have baby's immunization naturally take care of the infection. After 4 days, when he started having fever (101F) doctor suggested to use Amoxycillin.

He is now on the 4th day (8th dose) and we observed red spots on his stomach and back.

1)Not sure if this is allergic reaction to the medicine and if we should continue. If we continue, would that complicate the issue?
2) Is it ok to apply calamine and Aloe Vera and check for couple of days before seeing doctor?

He seems to be active, though, his intake has fallen to less than 25% that he normally consumes and is a picky eater, since he was born

HI
thank for asking to HCM
Yes you may be right the Amoxicillin drug are known for hypersensitivity because it belongs to the penicillin group of drug so the first reason would be this drug it is better to stop the drug and no need to apply any thing or to give any thing orally this will go away soon the only way is to confirm this is try the same drug next time if your child is sensitive to this drug then it will manifest as a allergic reaction have nice day.
