Child Having Suspected Primary Complex. X-ray Done. What Does The Report Mean?
may son has a primary complex before when he was 3 years old. and now that he s 7 they are suspecting that he have a primary complex, but his X-ray result i:: Both lung fields are clear. heart is not enlarged. hemidiaphragms, costophrenics sinuses and visualized bones are intact. impression: normal chest study . Now does he have primary complex or none?

The reports are normal and do not suggest either primary complex or any active lung pathology. To diagnose tuberculosis in its various forms the following details are required:
1. History
2. Weight record
3. Clinical examination
4. Haematological work up
5. Mantoux test
6. X-ray which has already been done

You have not told about the symptoms of your child
Any child with suspected primary complex should have following symptoms
1.Cough more than 15 days
2.Weight loss
3.Evening rise of temperature and sweating.
Following investigations will be helpful
1.Xray:Patch should be seen with hilar lymph nodes enlargement.
2.ESR raised.
3.Sputum should be positive for AFB.
