Child Having Palpitations, Chest Tightness Without Any Activity. Done EKG, Heart Monitor. Diagnosed With Irregular Heart Rhythm. Causes?

Yes, my son has heart palpitations.. We found out a little over 2 years ago. It s quit strange, out of the blue he complains about tightness in his chest without doing any activites. So far he has had 3 EKG , 24 Heart Monitor and when he see s his pediatrian they say he is fine. He was referred to a specialist who diagnosis him with heart palpitations. Said that he heart beat is irregular heart rhythm.. (It beats fast, then slow, then fast again). How can everyone else say that he is okay. When my son continues to complain.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Your child seems to have abnormality in heart rate and the rhythm which are known as cardiac arrythmias.
Some arrythmias are paroxysmal means, they come and go.
When there is no arrythmia, the heart rate will be normal and diificult to detect this problem.
This may be the cause for not detecting by the your first Pediatrician.
But your child symptoms of palpitations and chest tightness, even though quite stranege of complaining, still significant.
And in this type of presentation 24 hours EKG monitoring may help to come to a conclusion.
Nothing to worry as the treatment options are available and the specialist will advise you the appropriate treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.
