Child Having High Fever, Gave Tylenol For Virus. Is She Having Meningitis?

my 2 yr. old great granddaughter has been to emergency 2 nights in a row with high fever (106+) they could find nothing in blood or urine. said she had a virus and to give her Tylenol. she just woke up from a nap and she acts like she is out of it and continuely cries. could she have Meningitus? I don't hear her crying now, but she has never acted like that or for so long. 20 minutes maybe. she will not let us take her temp. though she does not feel hot.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
High grade fever like 106 degree F will usually occur in viral fevers.
Meningitis will occur with fever, vomiting, and there will be neck stiffness on examination by the doctor.
Blood tests will show increased white cells.
I suggest you to be in close follow up with the pediatrician till she recovers completely.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
