Thank you for your query.

I presume that your daughter has received the full course of treatment for giardia. If yes then I shall like to wait for another day or two for the frequency of motion to return to normal. In the mean time I request you to increase the intake of curd, yogurt and buttermilk.

In case the frequency of motion does not become normal in the next day or two then only one will consider starting an antibiotic or repeating metrogyl.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.

Ayurveda Specialist Dr. Sagar Mhatre's  Response
Because of low immunity, and unhygienic condition child frequently suffer from infection.
Frequency is not important in diarrhea, In Diarrhea important thing is watch for Dehydration Sign. (low urine out put, sunken eyes, Absent tear less, drowsiness, Lethargic, Abdominal distention, Restlessness etc)
Green stool is not criteria to start Antibiotic. If stool is green by the time it is excreted from the body, it could mean that it went through the large intestine too fast to be changed to brown. This is often called "rapid transit" or "decreased colonic transit time," and diarrhea that is green in color could be the result

You should get her evaluated once for her complaint to get her examined physically by a pediatrician.

Pediatric opinion:
1.If your child dehydrate.
2.Stool with blood
3.Stool with mucus(White sticky discharge)
4.High Grade fever.

I would advice:
keep her/ him Hydrate. Is most important condition in diarrhea
1.Give plenty of water(1/2 liter water+ 4 tsf sugar+ 1/2 tsf salt) Or ORS
2.Apple juice, Tea, Pomegranate juice, Coconut water, lemon water Butter milk, Rice Kanjee, etc
3. Proper hygiene.
4 Avoid out side food.
6.Do not use much medicine.

Thanks : For using Health care Magic.
