Child Has Zit On Leg, Pus-filled, Redness, Hard. Is It A Boil?

my son has had a red zit like thing on his leg for 2 months I have squeezed it here and there just thinking it is a zit. Well I looked at it today and it is doubled in size...had puss in it again. is red around it, and a little hard underneath it. I don t think it is hot to the touch or warm. Is it a boil ...infected bite...infected from me squeezing here and there. I neosporined it tonight and covered with gauze . Now what?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Dear nikakole I think your son has got abscess. By defination localised
collection of pus is called abscess. You should not squeeze it.
My advise is to take your son to the doctor he will examine
your son give appropriate antiseptic drainage and dressing
and probably a course of antibiotics. Kindest regards Dr.S.K.Mukherjee
