Child Has White Patches On Body. Reason?

My 3 month old daughter is getting white patches on her body.It all started when she was 1 month old when we had gone to our native. As the weather was very hot my baby got pimples all over her face head and neck .We were using johnson and johnson products. After we came back, the pimples dried up and became white patches. Her doctor asked us to stop all johnson products and prescribed Curatio(Tedybar and Atogla).Piettmples disappeared and slowly the patches are also disappearing. Now since a week she is getting pimples on her body here and there. It dries up and develops patches. I don t know what the reason is?i thought it is due to heat when she got it for the first time.We r applying an ayurvedic oil on her body(coconut oil wit some herbs )

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

What you are describing are not pimples but seem to be prickly heat. It is best to keep your daughter in a cool environment so that she does not sweat. By applying oils you may be blocking the sweat pores which may compound the problem.

Infected lesions may leave behind a hypopigmented area but they should become normal over a period of time. Hence my suggestion would be to keep the child clean and ensure that sweating is to the bare minimum.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,

RKK
