Child Has Stomach Pain And Fever. Normal Urine Test. No Vomiting. Taken Medicine For Food Allergy
Hi! My three year old boy is suffering from stomach pain with fever ranging from 38-39 degrees. He complained of stomach ache after waking up in the morning. Then fever developed at 10AM, and the pain became more intense after drinking pineapple juice with an empty stomach at school. The urine test is normal. No vomiting , stool appearance is ok too. His doctor gave him a medicine for food allergy and paracetamol but it didn t stop the pain. Pain occurs on his navel, the center of his stomach. Please help.
hello there,
your doctor may be right in diagnosing this case as food allergy, and you should wait a while for the drugs to act as it may take few hours before your child get relief.
this can also be some viral illness that has caused these symptoms and will go away only with symptomatic nonspecific treatment.
i would like to suggest you to give some antacid like digene gel to your child and see if he gets some relief out of it
there are few danger signs that you need to watch for in a case like this, like severe stomach pain, high grade fever, diarrhoea, vomitting, or lethargy or irritability, in which case you have to take your child to emergency.
meanwhile you should keep giving medicines prescribed to your child.
