My 11 yr old boy has head aches weekly 2 to 3 times and stomach aches...spends a lot of time in bathroom at at school and at home... stool is not hard...he just goes a lot teacher is concerned....What should I do? He gets plenty of sleep, he lives with grandparents, He may be eating too fast so we slow him down...being tired gives him headache . YYYY@YYYY
Hi
What is the site of headache? what are the aggravating and relieving factors? does he vomit during headache? does the head ache get aggravated by light and sound? Do you have family history of migraines? You have to get him checked for refractive errors of his eyes and to rule out migraine too!
If its migraine, there are medicines to prevent and abort the attack too!
And do have his blood pressure checked when you visit a doctor.
And regarding the stools, what is the frequency in a day and consistency of the stools? How long has he been having this problem? If its more than 3 times in a day and loose, it needs evaluation.
If its of short duration, it might be due to infection.
Regarding the tummy ache too, the site of pain, duration etc should be known. If this is of short duration too, along with loose stools it can be a part of infection.
What is his weight and height?
Does he have fever?
Its better that you have him examined by a pediatrician!
