Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Child Has Recurring Stomach Pain Due To Gas. What To Do?
Hi, Dr, my boy which is 2 years old n 11 months is constantly complaining about having stomach ache. His stomachache started in mid Sept. So, we took him to see Peadiatrician. It was gas in his little tummy. So, on and off after that he complaint about having stomach ache. I really don t know what to do. Seems like his stomach at times quite windy when he requested us to massage his tummy with oil.
I would appreciate if you note the following regarding the stomach ache:
1. What time of the day does it occur?
2. How long does it last?
3. Any relationship with meal?
4. Apart from massaging the tummy what else gives him relief?
5. Any associated vomiting or loose motions?
These would help the doctor in finding a cause for the stomach ache. In the mean time a stool routine examination and, if required, an ultrasound of the whole abdomen can be done.
If massaging the tummy with oil gives your son some relief then you can try warm fomentation.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
