Child Has Pain While Urinating. Urine Test Fine. Suffers From Eczema. What Should I Do?

Hi, my 4 year old daughter suffers with eczema and recently she has been itching down stairs, this has now turned into her screaming in pain when urinating. She has had her urine tested and no uti found but it is red and tender round her vagina and also there is a slice at the top which we have been trying to treat with creams from the doctors. It s just not getting any better I am running out of ideas

Hi
Thank you for your query
Seems that your child has a raw area near her urethral meatus (opening from where she passes urine). It can be due to a variety of causes. It can be an infection, bacterial or fungal. It can be part of an allergic rash (especially if she still wears diapers). There can also be a anatomic abnormality in that region. You should consult a pediatric surgeon for the same. In the meanwhile, change her undergarments to soft cotton ones. Apply some antibiotic lotion in that region, it will help lubrication too. Maintain strict hygiene. Hope that helps
God bless you
