Child Has Nausea, Loose Motions, Fever. Help

Hello Doc, My 9 months old baby is sick since 3 days. She is not eating food as she has nausea and loose motions with no fever . If i feed her forcefully she will vomit everything. I gave her ondem syrup 2.5ml yesterday in the afternoon n after 1/2 hour i fed her a bit of rice and she was ok with that. But today she has not eaten any cereals even after giving her ondem syrup and is passing watery loose motions since morning and its been 5 times. She has reduced drinking quantity of the milk too.

Pediatrician, Neonatology 's  Response
Hi.
your child has gastroenteritis. mostly viral.
what the child needs during this time is to give extra fluids in the form of oral dehydration powder mixed in clean water. these are available in the form of sachets with instructions on the cover as to how to use it
Antibiotics will not be of help other than in a few specific conditions.
Nausea and poor appetite are part of this illness.
see that the child is passing usual amount of urine which suggests that the child is not dehydrated.
hope your child is by now better
