Child Has Fever. Given Meftal P And Crocin. Any Suggestions?
My son is having fever 103 C, doctor suggested to give Meftal P every 6 HRs but fever doesn t come down and we hv to take him to Hospital, Hosptial doctor hd given Crocin and few anti biotics and said give Meftal P every 6 HRs if fever doesn t come down give Crocin after 1.30 MIN !! However, after one or two instance the temperature is not comming down almost for 1 to 2 hrs , we hv to do sponging and keep wet cloth on his forehead . Any suggestion ?

nothing to worry, as now antibiotic is started its effect will start now gradually.
Meanwhile give Crocin or Meftal either of one.
Give plenty of water and liquids so that there is profuse perspiration leading to temperature down.
If temperature is more you may go for cold sponge.
Give light diet.
In spite of all temperature continue, go for blood check up for evaluation.

Thank you for your query,
If there is mild to moderate fever crocin is enough and you can give every 6 th hourly depending on the presence of fever in prescribed dose.
If there is high grade fever more than 102 degree F, you can give meftal-P in prescribed dosage.
And you continue whole body tepid sponging with luke warm water after giving antipyretic if there is high grade fever.
If fever is not getting down within 2 to 3 days consult again your doctor for reassessment.
