Child Has Cylindrical Power In Eye. Will Wearing Glasses Continuously Reduce Power?
My 7 year old son has been diagonised for having -0.75 cylindrical power in right eye. His Left eye vision is normal. Doctor has advised to wear glasses regularly. We have got him the glasses today for him. My Question is - 1. If he wears glasses regularly - say for an year or two, will his cylindrical power come down, so that he can remove the glasses ? 2. What excercises and diet do you suggest for curing his cylindrical power ?

it seems your son is suffering from astigmatism, Don't worry wearing glasses will only improve his vision.
Do note that you should take your son to an eye specialist after every birthday till 20 years of age as astigmatism the power of his eye will change as he grows.So he will require to change the power of his glasses every year. iF not continuosly using glasses he will have difficulty in reading in class room boards, and will strain the better eye more causing power issues to the good eye so do continue using the glasses.
