Child Has Cough, Cold, Phlegm, Running Nose, Ear Pain. Given Montair. Will It Help?

Good morning dr, my son 5 years old is hvg sever cough ( phlegm n throat ) sever during the mid night. He had developed this cough during Jan 2013. * The same kind of cough he had it on Oct 2011 & lasted till April 2012. *Sep 2012 - Again running nose & then later developed to cough & cold which my son is still going through. dr prescribed medicines as below dates wise : 13th Jan 13 Levolin ( 4 days x 2 times a day) Altamox ( 6 days x 2 times a day ) 18th Jan 13 for review Almox 3ml 3times a day Levolin 2ml 3 times a day. piriton 3ml 1 time a day 21st Jan to 23th Jan - (phelegm n chest ) azithromicin 5ml 1 time a day Levolin 3ml 3 times a day Piriton 3ml 3 times a day 24th Jan to 27th Jan Levolin 5ml - 2 times a day Piriton CS 3 ml - 3 times a day Kidpred 5ml - 3 times a day we also gave him sinarest on 26th, 27th 5ml - 3 times a day as my son had yellow discharge frm d nose 27th night my son vomited. 29th - 30th Jan (cold & cough) Montair Tablet 1 time a day 31st Jan till 4th Feb cetrizine hydroclodride & Ambroxol hydrocloride syrup - 5ml AF x 5 days Asthalin 5ml AF x 5 days my son got the cough completely cured. 11th Feb - My son had ear pain & very restless n d mid night syp Moxclave - 3ml - 2 times a day x 5 days AF Syp Zyrtec - 3ml - 2 times a day x 5 days AF Syp Asthalin - - 3ml - 3 times a day x 5 days AF 13th to 15th feb Son had cold & nose block - Gave sinarest 5ml x 3 times a day 16th Feb Montair LC Kid tablet - 1 tablet x 11 days 10th Mar - My son had started to get cold & cough again. Night gave him Montair tablet. By 11:30pm my son was hvg sever cough. Gave Grilinctus 5ml but stil no sign of improvement. Applied vicks all over his chest, back, nose & legs. Till 12:30am there was no improvement & by giving him warm water he was somewhat better & now hez sleeping without much cough. It would be of great help if you can help me out how to improve his cough & cold. Tks & B.Regards Sandeep

recurrent respiratory infection is your childs problem. commonly it can be due to allergy/asthma also. since he is having this problem for a quite sometime, we have to rule out TB-primary complex also. i want to know his wgt gain pattern. if his wgt is normal we have to think of bronchial asthma as a cause. avoid cold weather,cold drinks, smoky things in your home. he may need xary chest and mantoux followed that he may need inhational corticosteroid theraphy. contact me 09790863642.
