Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
As fever and cough are for 4-5 days it seems that your son might have bacterial infection and one antibiotic medicine course may require.
Now do not wait and consult your doctor and start the treatment to prevent more respiratory complications.
Mean while you can syrup as and when required.
Ok and bye.
