Child Got His Lip Hurt Due To A Fall. Scar Beginning To Heal. Why Is It Turning White?

Hi, my son fell and his tooth went into his lip causing it to bleed and scar . The daycare had to apply ice to stop the bleeding . That was about two days ago and now the scar looks like it is beginning to heal. My question is why is the area turning white? Oh, the scar is on the inside part of the lip and only visible if he opens his mouth.

Hi,
Thank you for your query.
There is no reason to panic at all. This is the normal process of healing. After a cut the wound usually starts healing within 2 days.Scar tissue appears at the site after few days. The scars heals and it gets replaced by normal tissue in 2 weeks. The only thing that needs to be done is to maintain oral hygiene.
Hope this has helped your query.Have a nice day
