Child getting sick quite often, having runny nose. Gave brandy, some relief. Safe to give brandy to kids?

Hi Dr,Santosh, My daughter is 5 years old now and quite often she falls sick and has running nose and too much flem.One of our friends had suggested us to give 2.5 ml of brandy.So as i did it and there was really some relief.I just would like to have your opinion if it is really safe to give brandy to kids.Awaiting your reply. Thanks for query.
I will suggest you never to give brandy to your child.Your daughter is having rhinorrhea which is a common problem,give her plenty of fluids especially warm water,give steam during night.
give her balanced diet so as to build her immunity.avoid fried food and all kinds of junk food.
In case her symptoms get worse i advise you to take her to pediatrician.

your daughter will be fine
