Child Fell And Hit The Head, Has A Large Egg On His Forehead. No Vomiting, Dizziness. But Fell Asleep. Problem?

2 year old grandson fell and hit his head on the edge of a step. (no carpet) and has a large goose egg on his forehead. he had a blue line across theraised bruise when i picked him up. 30 minutes later he appears sleepy. He walked to his room and laid down in his bed.
No apparent dizziness or nausea.
Do I give him children's tylenol or Motrin? Is it ok if he falls asleep?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Your grandson has developed a haematoma which is a collection of blood beneath the skin. This will resolve in a weeks time. However beware of danger signs in the first 24 hrs post head injury :

1)Abnormal behaviour
2)Convulsion
3)Multiple projectile vomits.

If the above happen get him examined by his doctor. At present you could give him painkiller like Tylenol or Motrin.

Bye
Take care.
