Child eats lead pencils and paper daily. Suggestions?

I have a six year old infant boy at my school who eats lead pencils continuously every day. His teacher doesn t know what do do again. This same child also chews paper from his exercise book and swallows it on a daily basis. He reverses most of his numbers as well. Please note he is the only child in the class who behaves like that.

HI DEAR,
YOUR 6 YEAR OLD IS SUFFERING FROM A CONDITION CALLED PICA (TENDENCY TO EAT NON EDIBLE SUBSTANCES). THIS IS MOST OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH IRON DEFICIENCY.
LEAD PENCILS DO NOT CONTAIN LEAD & HENCE THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF LEAD POISONING.
KINDLY GET HIM TESTED FOR IRON DEFICIENCY.
HOPE YOU FIND THIS INFORMATION USEFUL.
