Child Discharging Gel-like Fluid From Vagina. What Is It?

I need some help/advice on one of my girls. As of yesterday, my wife and I noticed that Willow, who will be a year old on the 12th of April, is discharging some gel-like fluid from her vagina. Willow is not spayed and is not due for her second heat until September. The fluid is odorless and somewhat cream coloured with a tinge of brown. Its consistency would be like the white of an egg, on the slimy side and thicker than water.

Pediatrician 's  Response

Hi dad,
Thanks for placing your query through HCM.
I can appreciate your concerns.
After newborn period & till puberty, girl child can normally have a thin mucoid discharge which is always odourless.
Vaginal discharge that is a different consistency, malodorous, accompanied by blood, pain, itching, redness or burning urination is usually not normal.
If she has any of these please see a doctor to rule out any fungal or bacterial infection.
Nonspecific discharge can be due to poor hygiene, bubble bath and soaps or restrictive clothing.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Best regards.
