Hello dear...
Laryngopharyngeal reflux is caused by the reflux of acid from stomach to esophagus and upper aero-digestive tract(throat & voice box) due to relaxation of the sphincter at the upper & lower part of esophagus.
It can be associated with the sense of something stuck in the throat.
Management consists of:
1. Lifestyle modification- like weight reduction, sleeping on the left side, or with upper body raised.
2. Dietary modification- avoid consuming irritating substances such as acidic & rich foods
3. Medical management- Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, etc. (which prevent acid formation in stomach)
4. Surgical treatment- includes Fundoplication, done when medical measures fail. will be better to consult a Gastroenterologist & start the treatment.
There is no need to worry...your son will be fine.
And please don't get so much concerned with the chances of him having a cancer.
Wish him a good health & speedy recovery.
Thanks & Take care.

Hi thank for your question.
What I can understand from your question is your son is suffering from gastero esophageal reflux disorder(GERD).He is taking omez and zintac GERD is not a cancer but reflux of gastric content from stomach into esophagus which is giving him symptom of something stuck in throat.Treatment he is taking is right.
Consultation with gaster enterolgist is advisible to evaluate for causes of GERD.
Hope this answers your question..
