Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

Your query regarding use of toothpaste in a G6PD(Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency) is safe to use, Unless there is allergy to any contents if so stop using and consult your Dentist/Paediatrician.

G6PD deficiencies there are many drugs which should be avoided like Aspirin, Sulfa drugs, Antimalarial drugs (Primaquine & Chloroquine) and others.

In other thing which can cause is use of Henna (Mehndi).
It is equally important to take all vaccine and prevent dehydration to avoid any acute hemolysis.

Hope this information is useful for you.

Take care.
Good Luck.

Pediatrician Dr. Rajiv K Khandelwal's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

As you have neither mentioned the age of the child nor the amount of fluoride in the toothpaste it is difficult to say if this brand of toothpaste is safe. The latest FDA warning is that fluoride in the toothpaste is regarded as a potential toxic drug.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your child all the best.

Regards,

Rajiv K Khandelwal
