Hello Dr Kondekar,
My son 3 years old and he had a mild flu last week and it seems stable but then again today it's strike back with coughing and when he cough , I can hear mucus noise in his throat. Also he has fever 38 degree Celsius. I gave him neurofen with prospan cough syrup. I wondered is that ok or not? Please gives me advice. Thank you in advance.
Worried mum.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Dear user,

As this is a free question, I will answer it, although you have addressed it to another pediatrician.

Although the medicines you have used are okay for a child of 3 years, it is essential to take your son to a doctor to first evaluate what kind of cough he is having. If, God forbid, he has a bronchial cough, Prospan will not work and he will need a bronchodilator.
