Chest Pain. Doctor Prescribes Lansoprazole. Slight Improvement. Full Recovery? More Tests? Suggestions?

Hi,
I'm experiencing chest paints for about tree weeks now. They have been coming on and of before, but I have not gave it much thought.
I have visited the surgery and as the pain was not getting better, visited the A+E thinking it's a heart attack. They have suggested that it's reflux and prescribed Lansoprazole.
I have been taking this medication for a week now but just feel slight improvement. When should I likely to see full recovery or is there more damage done and I need more tests? Does the symptoms indicate angina?
we are going away on holiday. I do not want this to spoil it.
