Welcome to HCM forum .
Your child is most probably having a viral respiratory infection in which antibiotics are not much useful . Since steam inhalations provide relief , nebulisation with bronchodilator medicines might help in faster recovery.
So please consult your doctor for re assessment & appropriate nebuliser medications And cough syrups containing ambroxol and salbutamol.
Apart from this you can give plain steam inhalations thrice daily to relieve the chest congestion.
Wishing your child good health.
