Hello, for several months i have been experiencing a ringing in my ears, that changes in pitch at times and puffy eyelids that when subside leave a small hard lump in the eyelid. i also have had pressure around the sinuses and some headaches. it basically feels like all the tubes are blocked and i have used anti-histamines and eye drops to try and alleviate this without much joy. also i have used a distilled water and saline solution in a squirty bottle. i have noticed that sugar seems to irritate and increase this issue and as i have previously suffered from candida overgrowth i am used to eating a diet low in sugar. Are these possibly signs of candida in the sinus/eye/ear tubes? many thanks
There is a connecting tract (known as Eustachian tube) between the nasopharynx & middle ear through which infection can spread to ear. Also obstruction to this Eustachian tube, secondary to an upper respiratory tract infection, sinusitis, cold & congestion, can lead to ear pain/ringing sounds by causing un-equalisation of pressure between the nasopharynx & middle ear.
Management includes: 1. Antihistamine preparations like Allegra. 2. Decongestant nasal drops. 3. Antibiotics based on culture & sensitivity reports. 4. Warm salt water gargle. 5. Steam inhalation. 6. Maintenance of adequate hydration & nutrition status of the body. 7. Protection from cold, dust & other allergens.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery. Take care.
