Cause For Stopping Of Feeding Baby In The Womb?

When I was in my mother s womb, her womb stopped feeding me and my growth was stunted for the last month of pregnancy. When I was born apparently the placenta was malformed. She claims the doctors didn t giver her the name of the condition and I am curious as to what could have caused this, and how it may have affected my early childhood development. I was born in 1993, I am now 20 years old. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

hi,what you are referring to is called asymetrical IUGR and the placenta must be hypercalcified.it could occur if your mother had pre eclampsia(high bp),diabetes or any vasculopathy or any kind of thromophilias or was a chronic smoker or had any addictions.this is a condition which only affects the baby in the womb and baby catch up with normal growth after birth.so there is nothing to worry.
take care.
