Cause For Persistent Cough?

I am getting a persistent cough that happens mostly after eating, or on an empty stomach. I take tjhe drug lamotrigine,
as my only med, for bi polar and depression. I tried delsun, 1200 mil of Guiefisin, cough drops, it goes away. I have been on oproemezol for about 10 years

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Your cough is after eating, this suggest possibility of GERD ( gastroesophageal reflux disease ) more.
GERD can cause micro aspirations and this is the possible cause for your coughing.
Bipolar disorder is also a risk factor for GERD.
Along with antacids, you need to follow these lifestyle modifications for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food.
2. Avoid stress and tension.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Go for walk after meals.
5. Keep 2 - 3 pillows under head in bed to prevent reflux.
Don't worry you will be alright.
