Can Using Mederma With Hyaluronic Acid In It Harm During Pregnancy?

I am 39 weeks pregnant. I have been using Mederma Stretch Mark Therapy. But I just noticed that it has hyaluronic acid in it. What effects can this ingredient have on the baby?

Hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

Do not worry, using hyaluronic acid on the skin will not affect your baby in any way and it need not concern you.

The medications are applied to decrease the number and thickness of stretch marks, the stretch marks are very common in pregnancy especially during the first pregnancy. The number and thickness of stretch vary for different women and whether they become light with treatment cannot be predicted.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
