Can Unprotected Sex Cause Pregnancy When On Contraceptive Pills?

Hi.my doc suggested me yamini pack of 21 pills as treatment for moderate acne he also suggested me to stop taking pills after my 21 pack of tablet is finished and the to start it again on 5th day of my periods.and also i am having healthy sex with my partner without precaution.so is there any chance for me to get pregnancy?

Hi, this contraceptive pills has maximum efficacy. They prevent the ovulation and hence pregnancy.
There are lot of advantages and disadvantages. Advantages being painless period, regular cycles, relatively less flow in case of women with menorrhagia.
Disadvantages are bloating sensation, weight gain, breast tenderness.
Even though OCPs prevent pregnancies they do not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases. Hence you might need a barrier contraception if you are concerned about them.
