Can Ulcerative Colitis Be Cured By Diet Control?

hello Dr,
i hv been detected with IBD-Ulcerative colitis 2 yrs back. I hv been put on prednisolone from then several times with max dose of 60 mg. along with mesalamine 800mg 2-3 times a day i am having on regular basis. the condition goes bad after few days of stopping steroids. now Dr has given me azoran-100 mg daily along with mesacol and wysolone 40 mg and tapering down. now i am good with the effect of medicine, but i am in my 30's and got married recently..
my query is -
1)is UC curable by diet control or any other means?
2)for how long one can take azoran and steroid as they hv side effects?
3)can i plan for my family taking these medicines?
4)how to keep in remission stage as to lead a normal life and to improve quality of life?

Thanks and Regards.

Hi,

While diet control is a good adjunct to treatment, alone, it is not able. I will suggest that you associate this with drugs for best results.

I wish you well.
