Can Treatment For Orchitis Lead To Swelling Of Testicles?
Hello, I have recently been treated for Orchitis and was given a course of antibiotics(injection-ceftriaxone 250mg and doxycycline caps 100mg for 7 days) to clear it up. The symptoms were swollen, hard and tender left testicle. After about 3 days the swelling went away and testicle reduced in hardness and size. Nine days after finishing antibiotics I had blood in semen which I never had before. I waited a week and then again had blood in semen. Its not red or brown but pinky colour. My question is should I wait awhile or return to the doctor for more antibiotics? Thanks for your help.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.I would recommend you to see your doctor for a review. 2.You have not mentioned if you had an ultrasound scan done / if not please request for one. It will gives you a clear picture. 3.Yes it can be swollen at the time of infection / inflammation. And reduces to normal size by the time. 4.Blood in the semen is little worrisome. 5.So get the scan done as soon as you can get appointment with your doctor and evaluate the condition. 6. Hope i answered your query, wish you good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
