Can Tonsils Cause Elevated BP?

hi, I have a 14 year old son and he s been having problems with his blood pressure. he was getting readings of 150/105 but now hes on pills and its under control. he took a sleep study and they want to check his tonsils, could that be causing his high blood pressure. we have been dealing with this for 1 year now if you can help please email me

Yes tonsils have rich blood supply which can lead to hypertension secondary to vasoconstriction .there could be internal bleeding.Also get an 2d echo of his heart to look for any functional defects in the heart.consult cardiologist for expert management.thankyou
