HI, MY NAME IS RENEE; I M 43 I HAVE A CHRONIC PAIN DISEASE AND TAKE ALOT OF NARCOTICS WHICH YOU NO CAUSE CONSTIPATION i TRIED EVERYTHING I WAS rx LACTULOSE , MIRLAX I mite go 1x in a month and a half, my question is can having this problem make me gain pounds and possibly water weight in belly hips thighs etc.. cuz the past month i have put on 8 plus pounds and am very cautious and extremely worried about my weight, Please help me and I hope theres no fee, thanks Is there anyone who answers medical questions out of the kindness of there heart I ve paid my PCP yesterday and she had no answer so since you can t help me w/o money then forget i even asked

I would be happy to answer your query, if your main concern is constipation then it could be due to narcotic drug so first of all you have to stop this drug, and then start drinking more water along with fiber containing diet, and most important to come out of the stress, keep the regular habit of defection even in absence of need of this, do not exert the force at the time of defecation, no matter if you do not pass the stool still sit there for some time hope this helps you.
