Can Termination Of Pregnancy Without Antibiotics Cause Any Problem?

Hi I had a termination of pregnancy a week ago because of fetus health problems. I was 14 weeks pregnant. I was not given antibiotics, is this normal? Also, I noticed a bruise on my stomach after the operation that was not there before. No one can tell me what happened. I am quite concerned.

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Generally antibiotics should be given after the surgery to prevent the infection. Bruise on the stomach may be due to following reason: trauma during operation, perforation of uterus, infections.
You should consult your doctor immediately and should go for USG, CBC, Hb to confirm the above cause. Take proper rest, avoid excretion and maintain pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you
