Can Taking Warfarin Or High HP Medication Lead To Foaming In The Mouth?

My 80 year old mother is suddenly complaining about foaming at the mouth while she sleeps. She also mentioned it burns her mouth. She does not complain about any stomach concerns thinking this could be acid reflux. She is also on a number of medications. Warferin and high blood pressure medicine.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Foaming in mouth during sleep is possibly due to open mouth. If she were to have it along with breathlessness, then possible pulmonary complications were needed to be evaluated.
2. Warfarin and blood pressure medications, do not cause these symptoms. Anti-depressants, or sleep medications with disturbed sleep can commonly cause it.
3. Check if she has any nose problems and is she breathing through nose. Breathing through mouth can cause dry throat, irritation and burning sensation. Hydration should be good. More details regarding medication and clinical history necessary for further opinion.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
