Can Taking Prednisone And Azithromycin Be Safe For COPD?

I MAY HAVE COPD WENT TO ER ROOM LAST NIGHT TOOK CHEST exray WAS OK GAVE ME 3 PREDNISON 59 MG 1 DAILY aZITHROMYCINL 500mg only 5 tab take 1 a day gave me 3 sterods in the hospital and nebuliezer beaating test for half hour Yes I am a sm0ker told me no TURKEY SO AM EEALLY TRYING TO QUIT BUT IT IS VERY HARD TO THEY SAY THERE IS NO CURE I use thick poise pads goes right threw keep changing goeas ther don t know if i have it yet HAVE Dr, App.Oct.1 smoking is killing me I am trying to slow down also I am 70 years old lost my husband march 15th 19

Yes, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is not a curable disease and it is mainly due to damage caused to the respiratory tract due to smoking. Hence, you need to quit smoking at any cost so that you would prevent further damage to your lungs.
What medications has been given is safe to take.
Azithromycin is an antibiotic, which is given to treat infection and you need to complete the stipulated course.
Prednisolone is a anti-inflammatory steroid, which you need to take as prescribed and need to taper the dose and stop it.
You are more prone for respiratory infections, which might cause breathing difficulty and hence you need to take care regarding that.
