Can Taking Dulcolax For Constipation?
90 y.o. with no stool for 8days. Went to ER -given something to drink-stated no obstruction noted on x-ray of and. Has taken ducolax pills and supp.-drank smooth move tea - only results are brown liquid. No abd. pain-positive bowel sounds, orcas. sl. cramping. What do you suggest?

Hi,
It seems that he might be having absolute constipation and this is common at this age due to weak peristalsis movement.
You can continue giving Dulcolax or liquid cremaffin daily at night.
Give him plenty of liquids and water.
give him more fiber containing food.
